Completes inter-operability testing

Telit, a worldwide enabler of the internet-of-things (IoT), publicized that its LM960A18 mPCIe data card passed NTT DOCOMO’s inter-operability testing.

In Japan, LM960A18 allows consumers to have a convenient way to replace their present LTE mPCIe modules with an LTE-Advanced solution. Thus, it offers a global platform for developers and enterprise IT vendors to develop LTE products such as 5G data cards, FN980 and FN980m, LM960A9-P, LM960A18, and others.

LTE network in Japan

The Telit LM960A18 LTE mPCIe data card has been analyzed against NTT DOCOMO’s LTE network in Japan for carrier aggregation and Cat12, 2X2 MIMO. Carrier aggregations comprise both inter and intraband uplinks.

Supports more than two dozen LTE bands

Its 5G-like speed is perfect for demanding business applications such as remote office routers and other network appliances. In Japan, the LM960A18 supports more than two dozen LTE bands, including 42 that is crucial for carrier aggregation. It is also certified by regulatory authorities for use with the shared Extended Global Platform (sXGP), thus, enabling consumers to take advantage of private LTE networks.

The LM960A18 is also known to support band combinations to accommodate global deployments and supports several satellite location technologies, including GPS (Global Positioning System).

Expert view

Osamu Sato, Country Manager Japan at Telit Wireless Solutions, commented: “With the NTT DOCOMO inter-operability testing passed, Telit continues to be the leader in providing Japan’s IoT integrators, enterprise IT vendors and their customers with first-to-market solutions for leveraging NTT DOCOMO’s advanced network.” Further, he added, “The LM960A18 supports up to LTE Category 18 for use in all major carriers around the world and provides 5G-like speeds today for support of SD-WAN, enterprise networking and private LTE, giving enterprises a powerful new option for connecting their mission-critical network appliances in locations such as branch offices.”
